Mechanical Engineer
Description
Amentum is seeking a Mechanical Engineer at Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD), Dahlgren, VA. As a Mechanical Engineer, the selected candidate shall work as part of a multidisciplinary team of Engineers to deliver integrated products and services including design and development along with integration, test and delivery, and creation of technical documentation.
Mechanical Engineer Responsibilities Include:
Perform engineering calculations and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) when appropriate for assigned products.
Perform component and machine cost analysis for assigned products.
Researches and understands the applicable industry and government standards (CE, UL, etc.) for assigned products.
Utilizes Finite Element Analysis, and mechanical skills to both new and existing designs. Provide both formal and informal feedback as to areas of improvement in cost, manufacturability, and reliability.
Develop 3D CAD models and drawings of complex assemblies using SolidWorks.
Develop and update system diagrams, assembly, subassembly, and part drawings.
Support hands-on integration and test activities.
Minimum Qualifications and experience:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
3-7 Years Experience in Mechanical Engineering field.
Must have an Active SECRET US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a SECRET Clearance.
Proficiency with 3D Modeling / Design and evaluation tools (e.g., SolidWorks, Ansys, Nastran).
Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
